Jordan Funke has more than a decade of experience in the financial services industry, and began his career as an intern with The Financial Specialists in 2011 while he was in college. He holds his life and health insurance as well as Series 6, 63 and 65 securities licenses.
As Vice President and Senior Partner of the firm now, he is integral to the firm’s operation and expansion. Jordan says, “We are a full-service financial planning and investment firm. We specialize in helping retirees, pre-retirees, high-net-worth clients, small business owners, and young families with all of their investment and financial needs.” He’s quick to point out that each person’s situation and background is different, which is why TFS customizes every financial plan. “We need to diagnose where they are at and build a plan to guide them to where they want to go,” he says.
Jordan is passionate about helping his clients and he actively seeks out new financial strategies to enhance their success. “I’ve been able to help people from all different backgrounds and occupations manage their risk and achieve their financial goals. I’m pretty easy to read—it’s easy to see my passion for the industry and I think people can see that I care about each and every one of my clients. I think our clients also like the fact that I’ve got plenty of experience, yet they also have the continuity of having me as their advisor for the next 30-40 years,” Jordan says.
Regarding why a client should seek out financial advice, he says, “We are the ‘information generation;’ however, information does not constitute knowledge. When clients contact me, they get the benefit from all that I’ve learned from my father being in the industry for 30+ years, in addition to me eating, breathing, and sleeping the financial advisory business for the past decade. I can help guide them away from some common mistakes as well as give suggestions to other options they may not be aware of.”
Jordan graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in business communications from the University of Iowa. His young daughter is his world, and he spends most days going to the park or pool, or taking her to gymnastics, tennis lessons and cheerleading practice. As an U of I graduate, Jordan enjoys attending Iowa Hawkeye athletic events, health and wellness activities, boating, and spending time outdoors.
